Nintendo has officially revealed a new Nintendo Switch OLED inspired by the highly-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The announcement was made during the gameplay debut on Tuesday.
The OLED versions of the gaming console were earlier launched for games like Splatoon 3 and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Nintendo will also launch a couple of new accessories to go with Tears of the Kingdom. Read on to know the release date and price of the new Nintendo Switch OLED.
Nintendo Announces New Nintendo Switch OLED
The Nintendo Switch OLED will be launched on April 28, two weeks before the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The console will have a 7-inch 720p OLED screen with 64 GB of internal storage.
It will be functionally similar to the OLED launched in October 2021 but will feature Tears of the Kingdom-inspired runic inscriptions on Joy-Con controllers and dock. The new console will retail at $359.99, similar to the other limited-edition Switch OLEDs. The game will be sold separately.

Interested users can pre-order the console on the official website of Nintendo and Best Buy. The console was announced during the big gameplay reveal for Tears of the Kingdom. Earlier, a number of pictures of the console appeared online through various leaks.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be Launched in May
The video game, the sequel to 2017’s Breath of the Wild, will be released on May 12. The overview of the game by Nintendo reads, “An epic adventure across the land and skies of Hyrule awaits in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch. The adventure is yours to create in a world fueled by your imagination.”
“In this sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you’ll decide your own path through the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule and the mysterious islands floating in the vast skies above. How to Pre-Order Tears of the Kingdom?
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is priced at $69.99. The game is now available for pre-order on Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. Switch Online subscribers can buy a Nintendo Switch Game Voucher for $99.98 to get two games at the price of the vouchers. So Tears of the Kingdom can be bought with another highly-priced game for a total of $99.98.
On May 12, Nintendo will also release a Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for $74.99. It can also be pre-ordered at Best Buy. Another product being launched along with the game is the Nintendo Switch OLED carrying case, which will come at $24.99. The black and gold case is also available for pre-order.
