Genshin Impact has been one of the most talked about games of the previous two years. The game has become quite well-known due to the fact that it’s free to play with in-app purchases. Gamers these days either pay for a subscription to play the latest and greatest games or outright purchase their favorite games. So, the fact that Genshin Impact costs nothing to download and start playing right away has obviously gathered a lot of fanbases.
Genshin Impact is an action RPG, open-world game that lets players explore by themselves or connect with other players online. The game was released back in 2020 and is now available on PC and PlayStation with no confirmations yet about release dates for Nintendo Switch or Xbox editions. The PS5 version came out in 2021 with updated graphics. In a short span of time, the game quickly gained a devoted fan following.
Developed by a China-based studio, miHoYo, the game is heavily influenced by anime but has a worldwide fan base. The game is just as playable on mobile devices as it is on a PlayStation or PC, increasing the player base even more. The gameplay itself is quite fluid as well on all available platforms. The overall size of the game ranges between 10 GB to 20 GB depending on the platform. This one-time download will let players experience the game as intended with rich visuals and smooth gameplay.

Genshin Impact – All About The Game
Genshin Impact starts off with you fighting a fierce battle against a mysterious Goddess, with your sibling. You get to choose which of the two siblings you’d like to play the game as. Depending on your choice, either your brother or sister will get cast out after you witness the battle being lost by the both of you. Alone, and cast out to an unknown world by the Goddess, you see yourself in the world of Teyvat. You will find yourself in the company of a fairy-like friend, Paimon, to guide you.
The game begins with you exploring the massive world of Teyvat ruled by seven major kingdoms, each aligned with seven elements. Seven gods, named Archons, hold dominion over each of the elements in the game. The elements are named Electro, Pyro, Anemo, Geo, Dendro, Hydro, and Cryo. Of the seven kingdoms so far, only four have been revealed to players, with the remaining kingdoms expected to be revealed with future updates.
This means the story’s arc isn’t yet finished and beginners can still start the game and get along with seasoned players in exploring the new locations. This way the game can be kept refreshing with the new locations and characters being unlocked over a period of time. Long-time players of the game await updates to continue their journey and explore the game further.
Genshin Impact – Gameplay
Teyvat’s massive world lets players replay the quests multiple times, just as it was intended. Certain quests need to be completed early on to unlock further locations, new features, and abilities. Once all that’s out of the way, you can take on higher-level challenges that lead to unlocking better rewards.
Genshin Impact has several different characters, each with unique abilities, and a seamless online multiplayer co-op experience. There is also a handful of unique characters you can choose from, and even freely swap between party members as you explore the open world. All of this lets you explore each character’s abilities which can then be combined together to form a powerful combo.
Genshin Impact – Primogems
Genshin Impact is free to play on every platform that the game is available on, which leads to gacha-based monetization. The in-game currency, named Primogems, is what players use to recruit new characters, weapons, and better gear. While you can earn Primogems by completing quests in the game, there’s also an option to buy them in Genshin Impact’s cash shop. The game’s rare characters aren’t easily obtained with the chances being considerably rare.

All characters in the game come with star maps named “Constellations” that grant various character enhancements. To fully unlock any character’s potential, you’ll need to build their constellation several times until the enhancements are completely unlocked. This has led to several players purchasing constellations using real money in-game to unlock rare characters.
While the gacha-based system might irk most players while competing with others, it’s also quite possible to have a rather relaxing time without the need to purchase anything. You can play the entire game without spending any money and earning the available resources the game gives you. The game is definitely worth exploring multiple times as you can take your time to earn enough Primogems and Constellations by enjoying the game with patience.
Genshin Impact – What’s Next?
When Genshin Impact was released, the game was heavily compared to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While there were elements that felt quite similar between the two games, there are still several elements that make Genshin Impact quite unique. These include the different characters with unique abilities, an intricate artifact gear system, daily commission quests, and an elemental magic system.
The game is still being downloaded by millions around the world. The game’s major selling point of not costing a penny to own the game has steadily increased the number of gamers playing the game every day. Even after two years, the game is highly unlikely to fade away any time soon.
There is also no denying that the game’s music, artwork, and overall experience will keep you engrossed for hours. You should use suitable headphones to play the game to stay truly immersed throughout the game. The game is constantly updated and gives players new skins and new characters with each update that comes along quite regularly.
