What Happened Previously On Jujutsu Kaisen?

The previous chapter started with a discussion between Ijichi and Gojo, and the former asked the latter about his experience in the Prison Realm, to which the latter compared the sensation to being occupied with work, where a week would pass by swiftly yet feel long enough to not desire its repetition. At that time, Gojo and his team found themselves in Shibuya, the very location where the curses had initially emerged.

Upon inquiring about the individuals affected by his Unlimited Void during the Shibuya incident, Ijichi informed Gojo that they had all made a full recovery. Subsequently, Gojo ascended to the top of a building, bracing himself for the impending battle. The focus of the chapter then shifted to Sukuna and Uraume, with Uraume stating that although the confrontation was scheduled for that day, they were unaware of the specific time and location. Sukuna confidently asserted that he could already sense a potent aura emanating from a distant building, rendering the need for a predetermined meeting place unnecessary.

A brief flashback was depicted, where Gakuganji informed Gojo that he was the one who killed Yaga. However, Gojo appeared disinterested, prompting Gakuganji to question their lack of hatred towards him for committing such a heinous act. Gojo responded by accepting responsibility for his own sealing and acknowledging that it was the higher-ups who ordered Yaga’s execution.

In the subsequent panel, it was revealed that all the higher-ups had been slain, leading Gojo to comment that if Gakuganji had been the leader, the situation would have been different. After parting ways with Gakuganji, Gojo encountered Ijichi, who questioned why Gojo had sought his assistance above all others. Gojo responded that he had trusted Ijichi the most. Returning to the present, Ijichi prepared a barrier.

The scene then shifted to Utahime, who performed a dance that enhanced the Cursed Energy output of herself and others. The gathering joined in the ritual, dancing, singing, and performing hand gestures to activate their own CT. In a climactic moment, Gojo unleashed a devastating attack called “Hollow Purple” at Sukuna, charged to 200%.

Despite sensing its immense power, Sukuna chose to face the attack head-on rather than evade it. The sheer force of the attack decimated the surrounding buildings. Ijichi’s barrier caused a misunderstanding, misjudging the nature of Gojo’s attack. However, it was too late to evade as Sukuna’s right hand suffered severe burns. The two then get ready for the battle.
